Andre Moore Joins AFW/HI-SEAS Pro Staff
COATESVILLE, PA (May 8, 2009) – HI-SEAS welcomes Andrew Moore to their Pro Staff. “We are thrilled to have such a versatile and experienced angler on the team,” said Steve Miller, HI-SEAS Sales Manager. “His input on our new and existing products helps us fine tune their performance and bring anglers the best lines available today.“
Moore began his tournament career in 1992 competing in west coast bass tournaments and immediately became a force to recon with. He won numerous events in the WON Bass Pro-Am Tour before deciding to break out of the west coast in 2001 and start competing in the FLW Bass Series. It didn’t take long for him to strike gold there winning two FLW tour events on Beaver Lake in Arkansas in 2002 and again in 2005. In five years his winnings in the FLW totaled $629,500, with an additional $70,000 won in Bassmaster events. He qualified for the Bassmaster Classic in 2005 and 2006.
In 2006 he fished his first season in the FLW Redfish Tour along with his equally famous tournament-fishing wife, Kim Baine-Moore, also a HI-SEAS Pro Staff member. For a rooky team they managed to finish in the money in every tournament they fished. In 2008, as part of Team Crikey, Andre and Kim finished high in Division 5 of the Southern Kingfish Association Tournament Trail and won the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament qualifying for the Nationals and the 2009 Kingfish Pro Tour. They kicked off the 2009 pro season in January by winning the first event of the year, the Key West Invitational.
“Kim and I really enjoyed our association with the wonderful folks at AFW/HI-SEAS,” Moore said while at the Bassmaster Classic in February. Bain-Moore was the first female angler to compete against the men in the event’s 37-year history. “Not only are the people great, their line and wire products are the best I’ve used! After fishing fluorocarbon from Japanese manufactures I found they just don’t compare with HI-SEAS Fluorocarbon. It’s stronger, softer, more limp and I never have to worry about knots breaking like I did with those other fluorocarbon brands.”
Moore uses HI-SEAS Fluorocarbon for all his worms and jig techniques. He also uses it for spinnerbaits and even crank baits when not using Grand Slam Braid. “I really like Grand Slam Braid for a wide range of fishing applications,” said Moore. “On the kingfish trail we’ve used Quattro Plus mono, but have been transitioning over to Grand Slam Braid with excellent results. We load our reels with 65-pound test and add a full 25-yard topshot of 40-pound HI-SEAS Fluorocarbon Leader material. Naturally we only use AFW wire leaders and rigging products and most recently have fallen in love with the Surflon 1X7 wire for making our kingfish rigs. It doesn’t kink, which takes the worry of leader failure out of the equation when we hook a smoker that could potentially put you in the money.”
When he’s not fishing a tournament Moore runs his own lure company, Reaction Innovations, which produces an extensive line of soft plastic baits that he designed with sales across the U.S. and numerous other countries. He is also an avid diver, photographer and has recently gotten involved in underwater videography.
