Ben Dziwulski
Ben Dziwulski, thanks to his multi-dimensional fishing career, is a member of both our Hi-Seas and AFW prostaff. Avid bass fisherman since 6th grade, Ben has competed in several Junior Bassmaster World Championships after winning 3 Maryland Junior Bassmaster Championships. He placed as high as 2nd in the 2008 TBF Junior World Championship in Columbia, SC. He also has done well in many other local club tournaments in Maryland. After graduating from Glenelg High School in MD with a 3.9 unweighted GPA, he moved on to fish for North Carolina State University's fishing team (The BassPack), the nations' #1 ranked collegiate fishing team according to FLW Magazine. Since his first semester there in the Fall of 2008, he has been doing exceptionally well for the team. So well, that he was able to qualify out of about 50 club members for the FLW College Fishing regional qualifier on the Potomac River, where he and his partner placed 5th. Due to this performance, he moved on to fish the Regional Championship on Lake Norman with his partner, Kevin Beverley. Using Hi-Seas Quattro Fluorocarbon exclusively, Ben and Kevin won the tournament by 2 pounds, and brought home $50,000 to the BassPack. Keep an eye out for Ben in future collegiate tournaments, with his Hi-Seas line, he will always be near the top of the leaderboard.
Now, on another note, Ben also has another fishing passion that has enabled him to become part of the AFW prostaff. During the summer, he runs his own shark fishing guide service called Surf Sharkin Adventures, based out of Bethany Beach, Delaware. They specialize in catching, tagging, and releasing the biggest, meanest sharks and stingrays that the Atlantic has to offer. They are able to land these monster fish using Hi-Seas and AFW products exclusively for all of their rigs and mainlines. Be sure to check out their guiding website, www.surfsharkin.com, and book a trip if you are ever in the area!
Ben is a very versatile and valuable member of the prostaff- look out for him catching big fish on both his bass boat and from the sand. When money is on the line, Ben chooses Hi-Seas and AFW.

Top 3 HI-SEAS line and reasons why:
Quattro Fluorocarbon- When it comes to Fluorocarbon, nothing beats Quattro. I use it for all of my finesse techniques, and most of my Jig applications. It is the smoothest casting Fluoro out there!
Grand Slam Braid- Coming from the Potomac, I am a big grass fisherman. In the Grass, you have to use braid, or else you will never get the fish back to the boat. Over the years, Grand Slam Braid has proven to me over and over that it will never fail me, even in the heaviest cover imaginable.
Grand Slam- I use the regular Grand Slam monofilament for almost all of my cranking and topwater applications. I also use it as the mainline for my shark fishing applications. I caught my biggest shark to date, a 12ft Sand Tiger Shark (a 400lb+ fish), on 20lb mainline Grand Slam. Need I say more? |
Top 3 AFW lines and reasons why:
Surflon- It is the only wire that I use for my shark fishing rigs. It is flexible, durable, and biteproof. I have never had it fail me after hundreds of sharks on the sand.
Mighty-Mini Swivels- I know this is not a line, but these swivels are AMAZING. They are tiny, and super stong. I use them in every Shark rig I make. Not one has ever failed me.
Mighty-Mini Snap Swivels- This is not a line either, but I cannot stress how much the Mighty-Mini series has helped my shark fishing. They are very low profile in the water, but when you have a 10 foot shark biting and tugging on the leader, you connot sacrifice strength. Mighty-Mini swivels fit the bill perfectly.

Favorite Fishing Technique:
Topwater Frogs for Bass fishing, and any type of beach shark fishing.
|
Favorite Area to Fish:
Potomac River, MD/ Bethany Beach, DE
|
Most Memorable Fishing Experience:
Winning $50,000 at the FLW College Fishing Regional Championship on Lake Norman, and catching 6 sharks over 7 feet long in less than 2 hours during the summer of 2009 at Bethany Beach, DE.

When not fishing I like to…
Play Basketball, Football, Beach Volleyball, and work out. I do the "CROSSFIT" workout program, and it keeps me fit enough to reel in sharks daily during the summer.
